iRidium for 7Port
a set of tools to create control interfaces for 7Port equipment.
The documentation was updated on 19.7.2021
iRidium developed interaction of control panels with 7Port equipmqnt by ControlArt with the help of a driver. 7Port equipment interacts with other devices with the help of IR, RS-232, scans RF 433 tags and sends RF 433 commands. There are also modules for sensors, dimmers and relays in the product line.
Connection
1 Download 7config app by ControlArt.
2 When the app is launched, the subnet is scanned and available devices appear.
3 Enter required network settigns.
Working in iRidium
7Port equipment can be added to the studio in two ways:
1 Adding from the driver list. In this case an integrator must enter the IP-address of every device manually.
2 Using a scanner. When ControlArt 7 Port scanner is launched, the network is scanned and available devices appear in the list.
Each device has 8 IR ports. First 7 ports correspond to the ports on the back panel of the equipment, the eighth port sends signals to all ports. There is also RF 433 reader to write and read.
Driver Properties
Connection parameters:
- Host - IP address.
- Port - the main port (4998). System data, data from sensors and commands to relays go via this port.
- Wait for Connect(ms) - waiting for connection with a device
- Wait for Data(ms) - time to wait for an answer from equipment (otherwise a request is repeated and connection is checked). Enter 0, if you want the driver to stay connected to equipment if there is no data.
- Confirm IR - send the following IR command only after the previous one is sent:
- False - sending is inactive;
- True - sending is active.
- Send Mode - a connection mode to the adapter:
- Always Connected - it is always connected;
- Connect When Sending - it connects only when it sends.
- Script Mode - it defines sending a command:
- Direct&Script - it sends a command to 7Port and to the script.
- Only Script - it sends a command only to the script (to the adpaterm when a button is pressed, a command is not sent).
- Ping Time(ms) - periodical testing of connection to 7Port. 0 - pirng is turned off.
- Disable Queue - it turns on the queue to send commands to iRidium for data not to pile up when there are problems with sending. 0 - false, 1 - true.
- Send Command Attempts - the number of attempts to send commads, if there is no confirmation of delivery, 0 - do not repeat sending.
Properties of IR output
- Name - the name of IR port (not editable).
- Mode - 3,5мм выход устройства 7Port может работать в одном из режимов:
- IR - it's a mode to send IR commands via IR emitter or IR blaster;
- Sensor Notify - a mode of a sensor.
- Frequency - signal frequency (38000 by default).
Commands
- Name - Имя ИК порта(не редактируется).
- Delay(ms) - задержка перед отправкой команды, отсчитывается от предыдущей команды на выходе.
- Change Frequency - позволяет выбрать частоту отправки команды: по умолчанию или уникальную для этой команды
- Frequency (Гц) - частота отправки команды, если Change Frequency: True
Properties of RF 433 output
Command
- Delay(ms) - a delay before sending a command is counted from the previous command on the output.
- Repetition - the number of repetitiond of IR-command by 7Port equipment.(equipment repeats the signal the number of times entered in this property).
- Divider - a divider (8, 16, 32).
- Data - RF command in 7Port format.
- Signal Type - a type of signal:
- RF - standard for RF 433;
- RF_RC - flow control using RTS/CTS to avoid collision of demands.
Writing Data in Port
To learn a command it's necessary to do the following actions:
1 Select a required IR or RF output port.
2 Select a port command and click right mouse button. There appears a menu where you are to select "Learning".
3 There appears a message with a timer during which a signal must be sent for learning.
To learn RF output a menu with selection of a divider appears before the timer.
4 During timer work press and hold a required button on the remote.
For more correct learning move the source of the signal as close to 7Port equipment as possible.
After learning is complete, "Data" line is filled in the command field.
5 Drag'n'drop the command to an item.
6 Select "Send Command".
Writing Data for Somfy/Tube
1 Go to the "Controles RTS" tab and select a required type of equipment to work further with.
2 Select the type of equipment "Adicionar Somfy" or "Adicionar Tube RTS". There will appear a window, take a remote and hold the "PROG" button on the back side of the remote for the remote to switch into the learning mode. Press the "Adicionar" button.
3 Data will appear in the command line and it will change depending on the pressed button. Copy the numeric value to iRidium. For example, "3767,160,16,127,180,81".
4 Go to the settings of the ControlArt driver in iRidium. Select RF ID command. Select Somfy/Tube in the Signal type field. Enter the value copied from the ContolArt app in the Data field.
The setting of a command is completed.
5 Drag'n'drop the command on a required graphic item in the project.
Tips&Triсks
Tips&Tricks
To learn RF move the source signal right next to 7Port equipment. In this case Data of the signal is written correctly.
After writing RF check if it was written correctly. There can be flaults in the radio signal due to different interferences that can lead to wrong writing.
Short press on the button when learning.
