    iRidium for BSS Harman

    A set of tools to create control interfaces for equipment by BSS.

    The documentation was updated on 18.8.2023

    In release from version 1.3.56.
    Example: BSS Harman.irpz

    Description

    BSS specializes in the development and manufacture of signal processors, equalizers, multifunctional audio distribution systems and room sound reinforcement.

    iRidium for BSS Harman is a set of tools that allows you to create an interface to control the BSS BLU-100 audio processor.

    The BLU-100 audio processor has a fixed set of interfaces - 12 inputs and 8 outputs, fully programmable signal processing and BLU link integration.

    Connection

    Use the instructions at link to set up the equipment in advance.

    Work in iRidium

    Create a new project and add the template for the BSPS Harman driver or create it yourself from scratch.

    Adding a Template

    To add a template:

    1 Create a new project and press the Scanner / Import > BSS Harman (Templates) button on the Devices tab;

    2 Select the device you want to control.

    BSS1.png

    Setting Driver

    1 Add BSS Harman driver in the Devices tab to a created project.

    BSS2.png

    2 Enter the driver connection settings:

    BSS3.png
    • Log Level - the level of logging;
    • Host - IP-address of equipment;
    • Port - port (1023 by default);
    • Device Address - the address set in Audio Architect;
    • Driver Version - a driver version.

    You can find out the Device Address in the Audio Architect app:

    • go to the device created in the project,
    • copy the first 4 digits after Ox from the HiQnet Address field in the properties - this is the device address.
    BSS9.png

    3 Click left mouse button on the added BSS Harman driver and add folders for subdevices (Add folder to network).

    BSS6.png

    4 Specify the folder settings:

    • Name - a name of the folder;
    • Virtual Device Address - the address given to the folder in Audio Architect.

    Copy the first two digits after the device address in the Properties in the HiQnet Address field. This is the folder address.

    BSS10.png

    5 Add the necessary subdevices (Add subdevice) with the left mouse button on the added folder. Each subdevice has a preset list of commands and feedbacks according to its type. You can add, modify or delete the necessary commands and feedbacks (if required).

    BSS7.png

    Setting Subdevices

    BSS4.png
    • Name - a subdevice name;
    • Driver Type - a driver type (BSS Harman);
    • Device Type - a device type;
    • Object Address - the address given to the subdevice in Audio Architect.

    Copy the next digits after the folder address in the Properties in the HiQnet Address field. This is the address of the subdevice.

    Launching i3 pro

    Open a project in i3 pro after its successful setting up (manual for Installing and setting the i3 pro app).

    A subscription package is sent to the device when the project is launched. After sending, actual feedback from the device comes gradually.

    Features of working with BSS BLU-100:

    • Device loses some subscriptions, if more than 500 feedback channels are used. The Subscribe command was implemented in order to allows you to send a additional packet of subscriptions for a specific subdevice to the device.
    • Projects that use more than 500 feedback channels may not process commands until the entire subscription package has been processed.
    • It is not recommended to use GLOBAL_TAG_CHANG if the project has more than 500 feedback channels.
