The documentation was updated on 21.7.2021
HDL is a developer and a manufacturer of building automation and control systems from China. The company was founded in 1985, and at present it is an international company. It specializes in developing and manufacturing high-quality automation products. The company sells its products mainly on European and Asian markets and its products meet high-quality requirements.
HDL is an official partner of iRidium mobile company.
Review of HDL-MTS10B.2WI control panel
Firmware version of the reviewed panel is v2.0-root
Review date 07/20/2019
The size of HDL-MTS10B.2WI panel is 270х209х40 mm. It has 64-bit 4-core processor and 10 IPS-display with 800x1280 resolution. Pixel density is 149 (it's not high, separate pixels can be seen). The panel has the Ethernet jack to connect to the local network and a USB-port to connect additional devices.
The touch screen is sensitive.
The panel does not have a battery which adds to the reliability of the device. Power is supplied via 12 to 25V constant voltage.
Front camera - 2 megapixels
HDL S10 has dry-contact inputs and inputs for relays that are used to connect to other systems. The proximity sensor, thanks to which the diplay is turned on if some motion is detected nearby, provides a convenient control mode. HDL S10 has also built-in KNX and HDLBuspro interfaces.
The device has Android 5.1. OS, but it does not have a preinstalled Google Play that is used to download and buy apps. That's why apps by iRidium and other apps are installed via APK file.
HDL S10 panel has a KIOSK-mode, that allows to limit the functions of a panel to the use of one app. It means that a user can interact with a panel only within one app and other panel functions become unavailable.
The panel is made for shockproof plastic and alluminuim alloys. A bracket for wall-mounting comes with the panel.
The panel does not support PUSH-notifications, thus it is not recommended for iRidium project where push-notifications are used.
In general, 1 GB RAM allows to used the panel in smaller iRidium projects. TF card (micro SD) can be installed to increase memory.

The results of Geekbench 4.4.0 test that measured the capacity ot the system and is a performance measure, HDL S10 panel scorred 826 points, it can be compared to Samsung Galaxy A5 Duos.
Advantages and disadvantages
As a results of the review advantages and drawbacks of HDL S10 panel can be singled out:
Advantages
- USB, Ethernet to connect to the local network
- Proximity sensor
- Sensitive touch
- No battery
- Brackets for wall-mount included
- 6 dry-contact inputs
- 2 relay channels
- Support of KNX and Buspro interfaces
- Front camera - 2 megapixels
- Memory can be increasd with the help of micso SD
- KIOSK-mode
Disadvantages:
- Low picture quality
- Ambient noise and lags during SIP-calls
- Limited performance when working with a video stream
- Outdated Android version 5.1
- Push-notifications are not supported.
Work with built-in devices.
To control devices built in the panel, create and set a driver in iRidium studio that allows to send commands to and get statuses from different devices (relay, dry contacts, etc.).
Creating and setting a driver
1 Create a new panel project
2 Add AV&Custom Systems (RS232) driver to the project and set it by the manual for HDL S10 panel (Host, Baud Rate)
3 Add required commands and feedback channels (for example, commands for relays and dry contacts)
4 Create a new script and add to it the following:
IR.AddListener(IR.EVENT_START,0,function()
{
var g_Device = IR.GetDevice("Android_Serial");
IR.AddListener(IR.EVENT_CHANNEL_SET, g_Device, Comand_Item);
function Comand_Item(command, data){
switch(command) {
case "SetSwitcher_1":
g_Device.Send();
break;
case "SetSwitcher_2":
g_Device.Send();
break;
case "SetSwitcher_3":
g_Device.Send();
break;
case "SetSwitcher_4":
g_Device.Send();
break;
}}
});
5 Set commands Send with the help of the manual
6 Assign commands and feedback channels to graphic items by drag'n'drop.
You can download a ready project that features work with all built-in functions of HDL S10 panel and havr a look at the settings.
The project features control of dry contacts and relays, as well as work with temperature and motion sensors.
