The documentation was updated on 27.11.2024
Description
The device is designed for installation in projects for the automation of apartments, houses, buildings in the decentralized Bus77 iRidi© network. The device ensures the transmission of a signal between the DALI lighting control system segment (Digital Addressable Interface, compatible with standards: IEC 62386-101, IEC 62386-102) and Bus77 control devices (sensors, buttons):
- built-in DALI bus power supply;
- on-board button for checking the connection of DALI devices after installation (broadcast);
- connection and configuration of up to 64 DALI and DALI-2 lighting devices (drivers, ballasts), including DT8 devices (Tunable White, RGB, RGBW);
- support for 16 groups;
- support for 127 Bus77 scenarios;
- addressable and group control from Bus77 devices;
- statuses about DALI device failure, lamp failure, bus power restoration;
How to Use
The device is connected to the Bus77 bus and to the DALI bus. The DALI bus is scanned via the configuration tool. The DALI actuators found on the bus are configured, combined into groups, and then linked to the Bus77 control devices (buttons and motion sensors). If necessary, a graphical user interface (GUI) for controlling the DALI devices from mobile devices is also created via the configuration tool.

DALI bus button:
BTN — button for broadcast control of DALI bus lights. Holding the button for more than 3 seconds turns on all lights, pressing it again turns them off.
After switching on or off devices on the bus via the button at I-CAN-DALI, the application (iRidi Studio, Bus77 Home, Bus77 Lite) will not receive feedback about their current state. The state of the devices in the application will become relevant after the next control of them via visualization, server logic or physical control of buttons.
DALI bus LED:
- off — no power on the DALI bus;
- on — power on the DALI bus;
- on and flashing — sending requests or controlling DALI devices;
- flashing quickly (5 Hz, ) — a short circuit or error has occurred on the DALI bus.
System LED:
- LED — system LED indicating the operating mode:
- short flashing once a second — bootloader mode
- short flashing once every 3 seconds — normal mode
- alternating short and long flashes — error code.
System button:
BTN — системное обслуживание устройства.
Connection and Installation
For the gateway to work, it is necessary to simultaneously connect the Bus77 and 220V power supply, this is due to the peculiarity of galvanic isolation for the safe operation of the DALI bus.
To connect power and CAN bus, use a cable - twisted pair UTP, FTP from CAT5 and higher:
- ONLY copper wires;
- DIAMETER (NOT cross-section) of the wire from 0.51 mm (AWG 24);
- ohmic resistance should be no more than 9.4 Ohm per 100 meters;
- 2 wires per bus, 2 wires for power supply, 4 wires for reserve;
- self-clamping connector.
To connect the DALI line, use a 2-core cable, in accordance with the DALI standard:
- for line lengths up to 100 meters — minimum cross-sectional area - 0.5 mm2;
- for line lengths from 100 to 150 meters — minimum diameter - 0.75 mm2;
- for line lengths from 150 to 300 meters — minimum cross-sectional area - 1.5 mm2.
To connect the DALI line power supply, use a copper twisted two-core wire with a cross-section of 1.5 mm2, the recommended voltage is 220 volts.
The device is mounted on a 35mm wide DIN rail.
Installation and maintenance of the product should only be carried out by qualified specialists with compliance with safety measures.
All connection work must be carried out only when the voltage is turned off.
Current repairs
If a malfunction is detected during operation, it is necessary to immediately disconnect the device from the power supply and call maintenance personnel. The device is repaired and serviced during the warranty period by the manufacturer's dealer.
Storage, Transportation and Service Life
The products must be stored in a package at a temperature from 0 C to +40○ and relative humidity up to 80% in heated and naturally ventilated warehouses, in air-conditioned storages, in the absence of aggressive impurities, conductive dust, acid and alkali vapors, as well as gases that cause corrosion and destroy insulation.
When storing products avoid sudden fluctuations in temperature (more than 3 ° C/min) and humidity (more than 5% /min).
The products must be transported packed in containers, closed railway wagons, heated sealed compartments of aircraft and holds, as well as by road with protection from precipitation over any distance at temperatures from -50 °C to +50 °C, with relative humidity up to 100% - at 25 ° C. When transporting products, provide protection against dust and precipitation.
The average service life of the product is at least 5 years.
Manufacturer's Warranty
The warranty period is 60 months (5 years) from the date of sale (if there is no sales mark, from the date of manufacture).
The manufacturer's warranty does not cover defects caused by: mechanical damage to the device; ingress of moisture; incorrect power supply; non-compliance with the rules of connection of the device; modifications or changes made to the device or its connection schemes by the purchaser or third parties without prior approval from the manufacturer; improper use of the device by the purchaser or third parties; non-compliance with transportation, storage and operating rules; improper installation and maintenance of the device not in accordance with the manual and passport and other factors beyond the manufacturer's control.

Checking the connection of the DALI devices
After all DALI devices are connected and powered, you can send a broadcast command to turn on and off all connected DALI devices from the device itself, without opening the configuration tools. To do this, hold the DALI bus button for more than 3 seconds:
- the first time you press it, all DALI devices connected to the DALI interface will turn on, even if they have not been given a short address;
- the second time you press it, the DALI devices will turn off.
Designing
On one Bus77 line we recommend using no more than 4 CAN-DALI gateways that can control 256 lamps. Accordingly, if you need to control a larger number of lamps, then use a combination of 1 IP-CAN + 4 CAN-DALI gateways that are connected to it. Combine the control of these IP-CANs over IP on the server or panel.
At the design stage, it is recommended to clearly define the line map, the order of the DALI devices on the bus so that you avoid changing their places after setting up in the application and changing short addresses.
In the project, if the short addresses of configured DALI devices are changed, these devices will need to be configured again.
Setting Up
Depending on which server or visualization application you use, the configuration interface will differ. Also, the device firmware includes several system subdevices, each of which is configured separately (see the list of them in the firmware profile description).
1. Bus77 Home server/Bus77 Home visualization application:
2. iRidi Pro Server and i3 Pro Visualization:
