The device is powered by one of the following methods:
- from a PoE source (IEEE 802.3at standard) using the Ethernet port;
- from a 24V DC power source via the Power terminal in accordance with the marking on the device. The permissible voltage range of the power source: 24-36V DC.
When connecting to an Ethernet network, the device uses the settings from the DHCP server by default.
If there is an error receiving an IP address, a static IP address is set: 192.168.77.77
MAC address of the device starts with 42-77-87-xx-xx-xx
The device's default network TCP/IP ports are:
- 5000 - http port for accessing the device's web interface,
- 1001 - an access port to the COM1 serial interface,
COM1 port and its corresponding TCP/IP port support simultaneous connections of up to four hosts, allowing multiple computers to simultaneously collect data from a single COM port. When transmitting data from multiple hosts to a single converter port at the same time, data overlap is theoretically possible, but in real practice it is most unlikely.

- Data Bits: Number of data bits - 7 or 8 (default - 8).
- Stop bit: Stop bit - 1, 1.5 or 2 (default - 1).
- Parity: Parity mode - None, Odd or Even (default - None).
Data Packing
The Data Packing section allows you to configure data packing to optimize packet transmission from the serial interface to Ethernet:
- Packing Length: It sets a fixed data packet length (0–1024 bytes).
For example, if the value is set to 2 bytes, then every 2 bytes will be sent in a separate Ethernet frame.
The default value is 0 (the feature is disabled).
- Delimiter 1-2: It specifies special delimiter characters that initiate sending the contents of the COM port buffer to the network when they are received.
More details in the Delimiter Operation Description section.
- Delimiter Process: Settings that determine the behavior when delimiters are detected and transmitted in the Ethernet packet:
- Do nothing: The packet includes delimiter characters.
- Delimiter + 1 or Delimiter + 2: The packet includes delimiters plus 1 or 2 characters, respectively.
- Strip Delimiter: The packet does not include delimiters.
- Force Transmit: It ensures that data is sent when a pause in the stream is detected.
The pause is specified in milliseconds (from 0 to 65535 ms).
Default is 0 (the function is disabled).
It is recommended to select a pause value greater than the transmission time of one character to minimize the likelihood of data loss.
More details in the Processing the gap (Force transmit) section.
How Delimiter Works
When it is necessary to transmit certain portions of data in a single Ethernet frame, one or two delimiters can be specified to avoid pauses and preserve data order:
- Only Delimiter 1(e.g. 0x44, "D"): The packet is sent when the specified character is received.
- Delimiter 1 and Delimiter 2 (e.g. 0x44 ("D") and 0x4D ("M")): A packet is sent only when both characters in the specified sequence (D+M) are received.
Processing the gap (Force transmit)
As an example of selecting Force transmit parameters, let's take the following port parameters:
- Baud rate: 9600 bit/s,
- Data bits: 8 data bit,
- Stop bits: 1 stop bit,
- Parity: None (no parity).
The total number of bits to send one character is 10 bits: 1 start bit, 8 data bits, and 1 stop bit.
The time required to transmit one symbol is calculated as follows:
10 (bit) / 9600 (bit/s) × 1000 (ms/s) = 1.04 ms.
It is recommended to set the Force Transmit parameter to a value greater than the estimated 1.04 ms. For example, a value of 3 ms would be appropriate, as it would provide sufficient time for the current character to be completed before sending the data from the buffer. This would help to minimize the possibility of data loss during transmission.
Using Delimiter, Packing Length and Force Transmit at the same time
If all parameters Delimiter, Packing Length and Force Transmit are activated, they work in parallel, and the packet is sent when one of the following conditions is met:
- Delimiter Detection: A packet is sent when the specified delimiter characters are received.
- Reaching Packing Length: A packet is sent when the specified data length is reached.
- Force Transmit Detection: A packet is sent when a transmission gap is detected that exceeds the specified time.
All three parameters operate independently, which provides flexibility in processing and sending data packets. A packet is sent as soon as one of the specified conditions is met, which ensures reliable and fast data processing in real time.
Configuring TCP/IP connection port
- Local TCP Port: It sets the TCP port for the COM1 (default value is 1001).
The port supports up to four simultaneous connections.
System Settings
On the Network page you can configure and change the network connection settings of the device:
- IP Configuration: It specifies the type of IP address configuration. Two modes are available:
- DHCP (default) — the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway are determined automatically.
- Static — you can manually specify the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway. When this mode is selected, the settings fields become active and available for editing.
- IP address: The address of the device on the network.
- Netmask: Device subnet mask.
- Gateway: Default gateway address.
- MAC address: Unique identifier of the device, set by the manufacturer, which cannot be changed.
The MAC address of the device is displayed in the format 42:77:87:XX:XX
- HWID: Hardware identifier, also assigned by the manufacturer and cannot be changed.
