iRidium for iEAST
A set of tools to create control interfaces for equipment by iEAST.
The documentation was updated on 12.9.2023
Description
iRidium for iEAST is a set of tools that allows you to create an interface to control the iEAST audio amplifiers.
Tested with equipment:
StreamAmp AMP-i50B – network audio player with amplifier with 20W-50W per channel for concealed mounting.
This device is designed primarily for integration into the Smart Home system and building audio multi-room. The metal casing with passive cooling and special mounts allows the device to be mounted concealed, e.g. behind a false ceiling.
Connection
It is easy to connect iEAST StreamAmp AMP-i50 adapter. Connect iEAST StreamAmp AMP-i50 to your acoustic system and home Wi-Fi network and set up equipment with the help of iEAST Play app.
Work in iRidium
Create a new project and add the iEAST driver to it with the help of a scanner or manually.
Network scanning
Scanning works only in the local network - it allows to add all iEAST devices to iRidium project. Here is how to do it:
- Create a new project and click Scanner / Import > iEAST Scanner in the Devices tab;
- Fill in the IP-address to connect to equipment;
- Choose a device that you plan to control.
If the scanner can't find equipment, you can enter the driver settings manually:
Driver Setting
1 Add the iEAST driver in the Devices tab to a created project:
2 Enter the driver connection settings:
- Log Level - the level of logging;
- Host - IP-address of the equipment;
- Port - port (80 by default);
- Update Time - frequency of requests to equipment (ms.);
- Driver Version - a version of a driver.
3 Click the left mouse button on the added iEAST driver and add required subdevices (Add subdevice). Each device has a preset list of commands and feedback channels according to its type.
Setting Subdevices
- Name - subdevice name;
- Driver Type - type of the driver (iEAST);
- Device Type - type of the subdevice (Master / Slave);
- SSID - subdevice identifier;
- Device IP - IP adress of the subdevice.
Setting Commands and Feedback Channels
To control equipment it is required to set commands (Commands) and feedback channels (Feedbacks). To send a command, drag'n'drop it on a graphic item and enter a value to send. To display feedback value drag'n'drop a feedback channel on a graphic item and choose how to output a value.
Read more about work with graphic items in the
"Types of graphic items" article.

|
* Value - a value that comes from equipment.
Setting USB Playlist
1 To display the track list, draw the Advanced List item.
2 Create a popup and name it TplPlayList. Create "Label" items on the popup. Labels are a sort of templates where track name and number are displayed.
3 Then go back to the Advanced List item and go to the template setting by clicking the “Template setting” button.
4 Add the TplPlayList popup and enter "type" in the Code line, as shown in the picture.
5 To set a template, open it with a double click. Then add labels to the template. Enter "type" in the Type field. Then add the following labels with requierd tokens: lbl.Name.Text; Service.Value
After adding labels click the line several times and enter values to each label . Value for labels:
- lbl.Name.Text - name
- Service.Value - id
6 To assign a feedback, click on the Advanced List item, then go to the Data source (located near the Template setting). Select Driver > Feedbacks > USB Playlist.
7 To play tracks from the list, add the following script to the project:
var list = IR.GetPage("Main page").GetItem("ContentList"); // Enter your path to item "Advanced List".
var i = 0;
IR.AddListener(IR.EVENT_LIST_ITEM_CHANGE, list, function(item, subitem, event_type, object) {
if (event_type == 11)
{
i = item;
IR.GetDevice("IEAST").Set(""Iridium open space:Play File"", i + 1); // Enter your patch to channel "Play File" and insert to value "i + 1"
}
});
