Connection of KNX Home Server
1 Supply 24 V direct power to the server as shown in the picture.
2 Connect the server to the local network with the help of a network cable. Insert a clamped cable to the LAN input. The router of the local network must have a set DHCP server.
3 Connect the server to KNX bus with the help of red-black KNX EIB terminal (it can be skipped, if the server is connected to the bus via an additional KNX IP interface/router).
4 Wait about 30 seconds till the Mode diode becomes green. The server is ready for work.
i3 KNX app is available for the following platforms:
- Windows 7/8/10 ;
- iOS 8 and later;
- Android 4.4 and later.
Connection of KNX devices
KNX devices are programmed and connected to KNX Home Server via TP1-256 interface or any external KNX IP interface. Recommended number of group addresses to control is up to 1000.
IP-cameras, SIP and TV are connected via IP.
Server Setting
KNX Home Server is set in the i3 KNX app.
To do the setting i3 KNX app and KNX Home Server must be located in the same local IP-network that has access to the Internet. Access to the Internet is required to make changes in the configuration and to control the server remotely. Control within a local network works without internet access.
KNX Home Server does not support setting from ETS and it has no app for ETS, but it can be used to monitor and program the bus in the IP Tunelling mode.
