There are several ways to control KNX devices with the help of i3 lite:
i3 lite provides different tools to control KNX-bus:
If you work with KNX-bus we recommend that you use KNX Interface module, especially if your project is planned to have a lot of KNX devices. Adding a big number of modules (for example,KNX Relay,
KNX Dimmer etc.) requires a lot of computing resources.
1 Open i3 lite config. Go to Devices tab.
2 Press "+", to add a new device (module).
3 Press Manually from store to open iRidium store.
4 Find KNX Interface module in iRidium store and press Add.
5 Set the module according to the table.
6 The module has no subdevices by default. Several subdevices can be added to the module by pressing "+".
7 A window to select a type of subdevice opens, select the required type.
8 Set subdevices according to the tables below.
9 In general KNX devices are ready for work, what is left to do is to select rooms where they are located.
10 Subdevices added to KNX Interface module can be deleted or their parameters can be changed. To do it, press a button in the top right corner of the module tab.
Restart a project after changing parameters of a module.
There is no module to control a thermostat in KNX Interface module. A separate KNX Thermostat module is developed for it. Setting a module and its subdevices is the same as setting KNX Interface module.
iRidium server of the following models can work in the KNX/IP gateway mode:
If iRidium server is used as KNX/IP gateway set parameters of KNX modules as described below:
1 Open the Server tab in i3 lite config, find your iRidium server UMC and select it.
2 Press Update. Check that the server version is 1.2.8 or later. If update is availble (Update now button is available), press this button.
3 Change Work mode parameter to KNX or KNX and HDL.
4 The server is ready to work as KNX/IP gateway. It can be used by different devices and projects, and not only the project where the setting was done.
