iRidium for Kramer VIA
A set of tools to create control interfaces for equipment by Kramer VIA.
The documentation was updated on 21.10.2022
Description
Kramer VIA is an effective solution to organize mutual work in minor installations.
Participants of a meeting can bring their own device (BYOD concept) and connect it to the common system with the help of wired or wireless (Wi-Fi) connection.
Kramer VIA allows to display information from user devices on one screen of the display system. There is a capability to display 1080P / 60Hz video on a common screen including videos from YouTube via wireless connection in high quality and without picture jerking.
iRidium for Kramer VIA allows to control broadcast statuses of user devices, to turn off screens of the display system and the volume of transmitted content.

Connection
iRidi driver for Kramer VIA works via telnet protocol. You can read a detailed manual on setting equipment and working with it in the official documentation : Kramer VIA User Manual.
Work in iRidium
Create a new project and add Kramer VIA driver to it with the help of a scanner or manually.
Network scanning
Scanning works only in the local network - it allows to add all Kramer VIA devices to iRidium project. Here is how to do it:
- Create a new project and click Scan > Kramer VIA Scanner in the Devices tab;
- Fill in the IP-address, port, login and password to connect to equipment;
- Choose a device that you plan to control.
If the scanner can't find equipment, you can enter the driver settings manually:
Driver Setting
1 Add Kramer VIA driver in the DEVICES tab to a created project.
2 Enter the driver connection settings:
- Log Level - the level of logging;
- Host - the IP-address of equipment;
- Port - a connection port (80 by default);
- Login / Password - a login and password to access equipment;
- Keep Alive - an interval to check TCP connection. In case there is no answer to the Keep Alive request, the driver will be turned off;
- Is Need Update - turn on / off status request (if changes are not made from iRidi).
- Update Time - the frequency of request;
- Driver Version - a version of a driver.
3 Click left mouse button on the added Kramer VIA driver and add required subdevices (Add subdevice). Each device has a preset list of commands and feedback channels according to its type.
4 Set added subdevices:
- Name - the name of a subdevice;
- Driver Type - a type of driver (Kramer VIA);
- Device Type - a type of subdevice (VIA Control, User);
- Tags - a tag to search a subdevice.
Setting Commands and Feedback Channels
To control equipment it is required to set commands (Commands) and feedback channels (Feedbacks). To send a command, drag'n'drop it on a graphic item and enter a value to send. To display feedback drag'n'drop a feedback channel on a graphic item and choose how to output or display a value.
