iRidium for Novastar
A set of tools to create control interfaces for equipment by Novastar.
The documentation was updated on 25.10.2022
Description
Tested equipment:
The MCTRL660 PRO is a professional controller for LED videowalls developed by NovaStar. It allows users to customize resolutions to configure ultra-large screens with ultra-width or ultraheight.
iRidium for NovaStar allows to change the source of the incoming signal of the controller, control brightness of connected panels, switch modes to correct image, block and freeze an image on panels, switch between test patterns and get information about the temperature, gamma and voltage of panels.
Connection
To connect to NovaStar equipment, do the preliminary setting of equipment:
To set equipment, use NovaLCT app, and the web-interface of equipment (entrance by IP-address).
Work in iRidium
1 Enter the Devices tab in a created project and add the NovaStar' driver.
2 Enter connection settings of the driver:
- Log Level - a level of logging;
- Host - the IP-address of equipment;
- Port - port (80 by default);
- Login / Password - a login and password to access equipment ;
- SSL - a type of encrypting (Disable, TLS v1.2, SSL v2.3, SSL v3.0);
- Keep Alive - time to hold connection in sec;
- Driver Version - a version of the driver;
- Send interval time (ms) - a frequency to send requests in milliseconds.
3 Click the left mouse button on the added Tion Network driver and add required subdevices (Add subdevice). Each device has a preset list of commands and feedback channels according to its type.
4 Set added subdevices:
- Name - the name of a device;
- Driver Type - a type of driver (NovaStar);
- Device Type - a type of device (Receiving card, Sending card);
- Board Address - devices (controllers), serial connected to the computer port;
- Port Addres - the address of the RJ45 output port of the sending card (255 - send to all ports connected to the controller);
- Destination Address - the address of a device. The first device connected to the cable has 0 address, the second one has address - 1, etc. (65 535 - send to all serial connected panels).
- Tags - a tag of device search.
Setting Commands and Feedback Channels
To control equipment it is required to set commands (Commands) and feedback channels (Feedbacks). To send a command, drag'n'drop it on a graphic item and enter a value to send. To display feedback drag'n'drop a feedback channel on a graphic item and choose how to output or display a value.
Read more about work with graphic items in the
"Types of graphic items" article.
