    iRidium for TIS

    a set of tools to create control interfaces for equipment in the TIS.

    The documentation was updated on 26.9.2023

    Example: TIS

    Connection

    There are various ways of communicating with the bus, allowing you to work locally and over the Internet if you have a static IP address or a dynamic IP address:

    Local Mode

    The "Local" mode works only in the local network and it does not allow you to set up control of the bus via the Internet. A broadcast address is used for connection. Local connection works with any IP device by TIS.

    TIS Remote Server

    TIS Remote Server allows to connect to IP-gateway by TIS via internet in case you do not have a static IP-address or a domain (DDNS). Connection is set via the internet servers by TIS that are used for authorization between iRidium control panel and TIS IP-interface.

    Serial

    The Serial protocol supports connection via standard Serial port such as COM1 in Windows or /dev/ser1 in QNX. To work with the equipment, enter the «remote» host or a device with which the connection is performed.

    Connection Settings

    Local Mode

    The "Local" mode works only in the local network and it does not allow you to set up control of the bus via the Internet. A broadcast address is used for connection. Local connection works with any IP gateway by TIS.

    TIS 1.png

    If Fixed IP mode in turned on in the settings of TIS IP gateway, enter data to work in the local network

    • IP Address - local IP-address of TIS module;
    • Mask - subnet mask;
    • Gateway - gateway by default.
    TIS 2.png

    Enter a local address to connect to TIS IP-gateway in the settings of the TIS Network driver. If it is recommended by the system admin, change the broadcast address, otherwise leave the setting by default.

    • Connect type: Local – mode of local connection to TIS IP-module;
    • Host – broadcasts address to exchange data with TIS;
    • Port - connection port (by default it is 6000).

    TIS Remote Server Mode

    TIS Remote Server allows to connect to IP-gateway by TIS via internet in case you do not have a static IP-address or a domain (DDNS). Connection is set via the internet servers by TIS that are used for authorization between iRidium control panel and TIS IP-interface.

    You can find addresses of available remote TIS servers in TIS DevSearch. Go to Network Configuration window and have a look at Server IP Address line. They can also be found in the settings of IP-interface.

    TIS 3.png

    Enter a required TIS server and its connections password in the IPPort Parameters section in the settings of the IP gateway. Hold the programming button on the device for 7 seconds. After it the device goes into the programming mode. Save the settings in the app and press a button on the device to leave the programming mode and reset the device.

    TIS 5.png

    Enter connection parameters to TIS IP gateway via a remote server in the settings of the TIS Network (UDP) driver;

    • Host - address of a remote server TIS(Server IP Address). Enter the address of the TIS remote server that is set in the IP gateway;
    • Port - port to connect to the IP gateway via a remote server. It's the same as in the settings of the IP gateway (by default it is 6000);
    • Password - connection login from the settings of IP gateway;
    • MAC - МАС-address of TIS IP gateway.

    Serial

    TIS Serial.png
    • Protocol - Serial;
    • Log Level - level of logging;
    • Used with iRidi device - set the host for the corresponding equipment (if this parameter is selected, the Host line will be inactive);
    • Port - connection port.

    Work in iRidium

    1 Create a new project and add TIS Network driver.

    TIS 6.png

    2 Enter connection settings of a driver according to the type of connection Local or TIS Remote Server. You'll find detailed information about connection settings in the Connection setting section.

    3 Click left mouse button on the added TIS Network driver and add required devices. Each device has a preset list of commands and feedback channels according to its type.

    TIS 7.png

    Fill in settings for each device to work:

    • Subnet ID - subnet ID of the device;
    • Device ID - device ID in the subnet;
    • Device Type - type of device. Depending on the type of a device a definite list of "Operation Code" is available.

    Setting Commands and Feedback Channels

    SendRecieve.png
    To control equipment it is required to set commands (Commands) and feedback channels (Feedbacks). To send a command, drag'n'drop it on a graphic item and enter a value to send. To display feedback drag'n'drop a feedback channel on a graphic item and choose how to output or display a value.

    Read more about work with graphic items in the "Types of graphic items" article.

    In the TIS Network driver, each device has a set of Operation Codes specific to their type. Also, for the convenience of users, a Custom device has been added, where you can endow it with a unique set of Operation Code.
