how to select, buy and start using iRidium products
To use software products by iRidium (i3 pro and iRidium server) and the cloud service - iRidium cloud, register at iRidium mobile web-site.
After registration you get access to My Account where you can create objects, upload projects, buy and activate licenses and control access of control panels to projects.
When you register at iRidium mobile web-site select what you are: a DIY developer or an integrator. Integrators are regular customers of iRidium mobile who create several projects for different end-users (customers). They get special prices and terms to use iRidium products.
We provide assistance and special conditions to educational establishments and integrators who present iRidium at exhibitions. Contact us to learn more.
You can use iRidium software for free in education purposes as well as to set and test projects before buying a license. In this case the work of i3 pro app has a time limit.
The development environment, iRidium studio, is free and can be used without limitations.
There are 3 variants of non-commercial use of i3 pro app:
Use the Emulator for fast tests of i3 pro work on the same PC where iRidium studio is launched.
To test the work of a project on a real control panel, upload a project on a control panel via iRidium transfer.
You can test uploading a project to a control panel via iRidium cloud. To do it, create an object in the cloud and activate the Trial Mode for it.
In addition, integrators with Silver and Gold statuses can use up to 2 panels for testing purposes with no time limit - Developers' panel mode. This mode is activated in the system menu on a control panel in the Profile tab.
If there are no more test panels and there is an attempt to authorize on another panel, a message appears that reads: Panel limit of i3 pro is exceeded.
There are two ways to test projects for iRidium server:
iRidium server can be launched on a separate device (a controller), as well as on a PC where iRidium studio is launched.
Before uploading a project activate Test Mode in the server web-interface. To do it, launch iRidium server and enter the following address in any web-browser:
<Server IP address>:8888
<Server IP address>:8888
If the server is launched on the same PC as the web-browser, you can enter the following address:
A temporary license to test an object for 60 days can be activated for an automation object created in iRidium cloud. To do it, go to My Account on iRidium mobile web-site, enter the My Projects tab, select an object, go to the Licenses tab and click Get trial period (2 month).
After it the object status must be displayed as TRIAL.
Remember that Trial Mode works only when project files in .irpz/.sirpz formats are uploaded via iRidium cloud. If projects are uploaded with the help of iRidium transfer the Trial Mode does not work.
For the Trial Mode to become available, a a project created in iRidium studio in .irpz or .sirpz formats must be uploaded to an automation object in iRidium cloud.
Non-commercial (free) use has a number of limitations described in the table below.
* In 5 monutes (or 20 minutes) i3 pro app has to be restarted.
** In 7 days a server in the Test Mode will delete the uploaded database and project. When a project is updated the 7-day Test Mode starts again.
*** The time of Trial Mode can't be prolonged, but a new Trial Mode can be activated for any other object in iRidium cloud.
Fully-functional use of iRidium products is possible only after buying and activating a commercial license. Licenses are stored in iRidium cloud. A license is downloaded from the cloud together with i3 pro project or iRidium server on a device.
To use a purchased license on control panels and servers projects must be uploaded only via iRidium cloud. When projects are uploaded via iRidium transfer licenses are not uploaded.
iRidium licenses can be bought and activated in My Account on iRidium mobile web-site.
The price of the license can be defined with the help of a Calculator. It depends on the following parameters:
There are 5 types of licenses for each configuration (with a server and without it):
Each customer can have several automation objects (apartment, country house, etc.). Several projects can be created for one automation object. Users can download projects on their mobile devices. Each license is assigned to one automation project. To buy and activate a license for an object create a folder in My account and create an object in it. Upload one or several projects to an object. After it working with licenses becomes available.
More: How to Create an Object in iRidium Cloud.
Follow these recommendations:
Go to the Licenses tab and click
If a license is short of some functions, you can update it and pay for the required functions. The license update is done in object settings:
When a license is bought and activated in iRiidum cloud a list with slots is created. The slots store information about panel IDs where a project is downloaded. When an attempt to download a project is made, a panel sends its ID to iRidium cloud and the cloud looks for this ID in the list. If there is such an ID in the list, the cloud allows to download a project. If such an ID is not found in the list but there are free slots, the cloud writes the ID in a free slot and allows a panel to download a project.
If there are no free slots, a project is downloaded but driver work is blocked and a user sees a message "No license found. There will be no connections to ANY equipment.".
How to replace panels:
1 Go to the System menu on the old panel.
2 Log out. When an account is logged out, the cloud frees the slot occupied by the ID of this panel.
3 Log in and download a project on the new panel.
Emergency way to replace a panel
If it is not possible to log on an old panel (a panel is lost or damaged), you can go to My Account, open the required object and go to the Users and Panel tab. You'll see a list of panels, where this project was downloaded. If you click a cross next to the panel, the panel is deleted and the slot is freed.
It's an emergency way tp replace panels. It can be used to replace 1 panel every 15 days.
When a project is created, an integrator or a DIY developer gives an end-user (customer) access to an object.
End-users have limited rights: they can only download visualization projects from the cloud, but they can't control licenses, upload projects, etc. End-users do not have an account like integrators or DIY developers.
Do not give end-users a control panel where you are logged in as an integrator or a DIY developer. End-users must be registered and log in with their login and password.
1 Go to My Account on iRidium mobile web-site and go to the Users and panels tab.
2 Click Invite User.
3 Enter the e-mail of the customer, who you want to give access to the object.
Two variants are possible:
4 An end-user gets an invitation letter by e-mail, where he has to click a link to activate access.
5 An end-user must log in the (i3 pro), using his e-mail as the login. After it he can download a project from iRidium cloud on his tablet or smart phone.
6 When a project is downloaded a panel is registered in iRidium cloud, gets a license and appears in the list of "Active panels". A panel can be deleted from the list to free a slot for another control panel (for example, a panel is out of order).
A user can be invited to several different projects at the same time.
After creating, setting and testing a project, an integrator can give ownership right of the object to an end-user (customer). To do it, go to My account and open the required object. Then go to the Users and panels tab and choose Give ownership right.
After the ownership right of a project is given to a customer, the project is deleted from the developer's (integrator's) account.
Giving ownership right of the object to an end-user is available only if a commercial license is purchased and panel projects only are included in the object.
An integrator can not get this object back on his own. An object can be returned to an integrator only by th owner, an end-user, after contacting iRidium mobile tech support.
iRidium V2 license can be exchanged for free for a similat iRidium pro license or for a more functional one with additional payment. To exchange a license, go to iRidium V2 tab of My Account then go to Licenses exchange tab. Here you can fill in a request for license exchange. The requests are processed manually.
If you have questions, contact our managers by e-mail.
iRidium V2 visualization projects can become iRidium pro projects after conversion. To convert a project, open it in iRidium studio and save it with a new name.
