    iRidi Pro Server Activation

    The documentation was updated on 13.10.2023

    Server activation is binding of the server to the object and the license (trial or commercial) that provides operation of the server.

    Online licensing is possible only with Internet access, via iRidi Cloud. Purchase and activation of a license, as well as storage and updating of projects occurs on the cloud in integrator’s account.

    An offline licensing allows to activate the license without access to the Internet and to iRidi Cloud. An offline license server stores visualization and server projects directly on the server in an encrypted form and the license is issued when you buying a server in the form of a USB key.

    Online server activation

    Online server activation is done in two steps:

    • creating of a cloud object in the iRidi.com personal account;
    • binding of a service with a cloud object.

    If you want to activate the server with an offline USB key, use the instructions «Offline server activation».

    Creating of a cloud object

    Log in to iridi.com web-site and go to the "My projects" section.

    1 Create a folder in iRidi Cloud and add the object with the pro type in it.

    CloudAddFolderAndObject.png

    2 Go to the "Projects" tab and upload the Server project (*.sirpz).

    CloudAddProjects.png

    3 Go to the Licenses tab and choose one of the options:

    1. To activate trial mode - 60 days of continuous work. It allows you to invite end users to test projects.
    2. To bind to the object commercial license:
    • If you using a hardware server or a license has already been purchased, then choose it from the licenses, which have been already paid for;
    • If the license is not purchased - create one and pay for it. To calculate the license price correctly upload the final versions of server and panel projects (with all necessary drivers and server tags).

    More information about licenses see in Licensing Policy

    Binding the server to a cloud object

    The server receives the license and the project from the cloud but the developer (integrator) NOT the user must authorize on the server using the login and password on the iRidi web-site. Launch the server, open the web-interface (see the instruction for your server) and activate the server:

    1. Input the login and password of the integrator account where you created the object with the server project;
    2. Select the service password to access the server settings. It is 2007 by default;
    3. Then you will see the list of objects and server projects from iRidi Cloud. Select a previously created project that should launch on the server and click on it to download.

    CloudServerProj.png

    If there are no server projects in the cloud at the time of authorization, you can upload them later In the server web-interface, tab Cloud, menu Projects.

    Only 1 server can be binding to the object, do not upload the project from this cloud object to another server!

    Adding functionality

    To work with an activated server, follow the instructions:How to update the project in iRidi Cloud.

    Server update

    Update2.jpg

    Update to the latest version from the website

    To update the server automatically to the latest version from the website, do the following:

    1. Go to the server web-interface, open the Info > SYSTEM tab and click the Update button. You see the window of server updating.
    2. In this window activate Get latest version from the iRidium website and press the UPDATE button.
    3. Then a new server version starts installing.

    Update via file

    To update a server via file, do the following:

    1. Prepare the update file (download the latest file version from the iridi.com website).
    2. Go to the server web-interface, open the Info > SYSTEM tab and press the Update button. You see the window of server updating.
    3. After you choose the update file, a new server version starts installing.

    Update via link

    To update a server via link, do the following:

    1. Copy the link to download a file from iridi.com.
    2. Go to the server web-interface, open the Info > SYSTEM tab and press the Update button. You see the window of server updating.
    3. In this window paste the copied link in the Enter URL field and press the UPDATE button.
    4. Then a new server version starts installing.

    Deactivation of a server with online license

    The server must be deactivated if you want to disconnect the server from the cloud object. For example, if you want to assign another server to a cloud object.

    To deactivate the server, follow these steps:

    1 Go to the server web-interface and choose the Deactivate Server tab.

    DeactivateServer1.png

    2 Press the Deactivate button and confirm password from integrator account. All data (projects, databases, logs, etc.) will be deleted, the server will be inactive and will be removed from your list of servers on the site iridi.com.

    Offline server activation

    An offline license allows to:

    • activate the server without access to the Internet and to iRidi Cloud;
    • store visualization and server projects directly on the server in an encrypted form;
    • download visualization projects to a panel directly from the server;
    • create local account to control access to visualization projects;
    • limit access to administrating the server with the help of PIN and PUK-codes.

    Limitations of an off-line license:

    • Only the following drivers can work in visualization projects: SIP, IP-cameras, iRidium Server. The remaining drivers can work only on the server;
    • Cloud services (PUSH-notifications, project download from the cloud, voice assistants, drivers requiring assignment via iridi.com) do not work;
    • Remote control is not available. Panels connect to the server only in the local network;
    • Up to 25 panels can be connected to a server with an offline license at the same time.

    Activation of Offline License

    Check that you bought a special offline license with a hardware software key. Connect power to the server with a USB key.

    Open the server web-interface. To activate the offline license click the Login using offline license button. If you can't see this button in the web-interface and you are sure that you bought an offline license, contact our technical support at Support@iRidi.com. In the next steps you must read and accept the terms of using an offline license and then create PUK and PIN-codes.

    Creation of PIN and PUK-codes

    Before you create PIN and PUK-codes, read and accept terms and limitations of server work with an offline license.

    Project Upload

    To upload projects to the server, go to the Projects section.

    Click the Upload project button and choose projects to upload to the server.

    The Projectc section contains information about used server memory. If memory is not enough you can't upload projects to the server. If it is necessary you can delete unused projects from the server to free memory.

    Creation of Users (Panel Accounts)

    To connect a panel to the server, a panel account must be created in the server web-interface. Several panels can be authorized in one account.

    To create an account, go to the Panel accounts section of the web-interface and click Add new account.

    Offline2.png
    Offline1.png

    There are two possible types of accounts: integrator and end user. An End user can download visualization projects to a panel and use downloaded projects. An Integrator has the same rights and in addition can change priject settings on the system menu of i3 pro.

    A panel account must have a login and password for protection against unathorized access. This login is also used to authorize in i3 pro. You can also choose a list of available projects for this account and edit it later on. An account can be deleted. When an account is deleted, all panels authorized in this account are unauthorized and projects are deleted.

    Downloading projects to the panel

    To connect a panel to the server and for further access to projects authorize on a control panel - choose Enter with login and password. To work in the offline mode open authorization settings and choose Local connection mode. Enter the login and password from a panel account created earlier then enter the local IP-address of the server with an offline license.
